As a Lincolnite, I'd just like to state that not all of us are staunch Yia Yia's supporters. Truth be told, I strongly dislike their pizza. They have good toppings but their crust is sub-par, something along the lines of dry communion bread. I'd personally throw my Quad-State Favorite Pizza vote to Thunderhead's Brewery in Kearney, NE. Their chicken alfredo pizza is practically the work of God herself.

I'm going to agree with Max here. Zio's offering of broccoli as a topping is one of the things it has going for it, but it's top 5 in Omaha at best.

By four state area I assume you mean Missouri- Iowa-South Dakota-Nebraska? I've had some good pies in all four states and I wouldn't even put Zio's in the top 10. Its barely in the top ten even in Omaha!
To call it the best pizzeria in a four state area is hyperbolic at best and a betrayal of truth at worst. Mamas, Big Fred's and Johnny Sortino's are all better than Zio's. On a Wednesday when they're half price, I'd even say the Icehouse is better than Zio's. Same deal with the Upstream. Pizza Shoppe in Benson, with $1 PBRs on Friday's, is better too. Zio's? I'll put it this way, I ate there more when I was unemployed for four weeks last year than I have at any time in my life. Ringing endorsement that is not.
Of course, this sort of extraordinarily opinionated take on pizza is likely why a former girlfriend called me a pizza snob. I know my 'za, I eat it three, maybe four nights a week, and Zio's is merely OK. But I digress. Carry on.

I can't say as I know the best pizza in the Midwest—I'm from New England. I can say, however, that this strip actually reminds me of my days working for a small independent print shop(read copy center on steroids).

If you've been to Yia-Yia's in Lincoln, THEN you've had the very best pizza in the Midwest! Sans Chicago. Maybe.
