Thank you, Bryan. I almost bought a BluRay player SINGLE HANDEDLY due to the 1966 Batman's release on that format. Seriously, this really happened.
Although, honestly, each era of movies has its own "style" and "genre" and even, dare I say, "panache." I like them all for different reasons (yes, even still today, Voss!)
Put it this way: I'm not always in the mood for the darkness of Christian Bale's Batman, but I'm always in the mood for Batman. If that makes sense. And with that, I'm off to Hy-Vee for pancakes and eggs.
(OH, and solid comic, too.)

You're all forgetting the roots. Besides Batman Begins and The Dark Knight; the best batman movie is Batman from 1966. Adam West rocks, and is to date, the only batman that was as tall as batman (6'2").

Next to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the rest of the Batman movies are so ridiculously bad that I feel we may be comparing across genres here.
The best of the ridiculously bad live action Batman movies is Batman Forever. Batman Returns and the original Batman movie take occasional stabs at being faithful to the comics they are based on, failing pathetically. However, Batman Forever leaves behind any ideals of what Batman should or could be. It is so bad that it is awesome.
Also, Val Kilmer is the only actor that I could believe is Batman in real life. Not fighting crime though – just wearing the suit and assaulting women in alleys.

I would agree with Donovan except that I would bump "Returns" down to 5. Though it does boast Walken and Catwoman, you can't justify that ending. I mean c'mon an army of penguins at the end with rockets strapped to their backs!? That can't be better than the first "old-one" with the Joker.

Yes - Thank you! I love Batman Returns!!!
(Oh, and nice work on today's strip. I think you excel at making fun of yourself. If you take that as a compliment, then you're welcome.)

I remember agreeing last night that Batman Returns does rank as number 3 (behind the new two of course), but I just realized I misspoke.
Pretty sure that #3 is Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Batman Returns just got knocked down to 4.
