The Freelance Radio Show sort of picked-up where the Freelance Radio Podcast left-off. I assume in a similar way that 36 Point’s The Reflex Blue Show came out of the Be A Design Cast. Maybe. What I can be certain of though, is that Dickie Adams, Kristen Fisher, and Von Glitschka seem to have a lot of fun recording a show dedicated to all that is freelance – freelance writing, freelance photography, freelance illustration, freelance design, and freelance awesome.
Anyway, it was my pleasure to be invited on as the first guest of The Freelance Radio Show. Listen in at Episode 5: Social Don’t Forget My Number.

Donovan and I welcome special show-friend Joe Sparano via Oxide Design and, since they are taking on Logo and Letterhead 12 from Rockport publishing (download the free-ass entry form here), we take some time to talk about the relevancy of letterheads — once the bastion of identity design projects — in the modern world of digital communication. We also introduce a few new segments to the show, including What Are You Designing and the What’s New What’s Update.

The Reflex Blue Show with Nate Voss and Donovan Beery, Episode 14: Stanley Hainsworth

“Today we are joined by Stanley Hainsworth’s hair, and, by extension, Stanley Hainsworth himself.”
Stanley Hainsworth, if taken by his past works, could easily be described as a genius of design (take those stints creative-directing companies like Nike, Lego, and Starbucks for the past 20 years, for example). But when you add in his uncanny appearance, you know you must call him a mad genius! Not that he’s unpleasant, by any means. Stanley is in fact quite nice, and as it happens very forthcoming about his work.
What really makes this show shine was the interview took place about one month after Stanley Hainsworth left Starbucks to begin his own creative endeavor, Tether, which you can find out all about at www.tethercreate.com, and we kindly persuade Mr. Hainsworth to spill the proverbial beans on the project. Enjoy.
