Every year AAF Omaha hosts Meet the Pros – an awesome two-day conference that brings top-notch professionals from all around the region and country, to inspire the next generation of designers and advertisers. One of this year’s pros was Stefan Mumaw – prolific author and frequent guest on The Reflex Blue Show. We invited Stefan to a morning podcast at the colorful Eleven19 headquarters in Midtown Omaha – just blocks from the Scott Conference Center.
It’s always a pleasure chatting with Stefan – and this time he had a lot to chat about:

- His talk at the upcoming HOW Design Live Conference in San Francisco.

I realized, hey, since I wrote about how great The Blatt was for Neenah Paper last month, let’s start the year of 36 Pints there.
We’ll follow up with a February April event at The Crescent Moon, and then go off schedule once again for an Eleven19 open house!

Thanks everyone for showing up to the Eleven19 open house last month (photos here), which was also the first of our 36 Pints.
We’re excited to bring a reason for designers to just get together and chat after work on a monthly basis to Omaha, and we hope to see you tonight at The Homy Inn. Feel free to stop by for a couple minutes, or stay a few hours.
Also, I guess we are taking requests for future locations (requests should be made in person at a 36 Pints event). Heidi recommended we go to the Interlude Cocktail Lounge next (May 9), so we are.
And, as this event started partially from conversations I had with Tom Nemitz, we’re going with his pick after that (June 13) at the Redeye Tavern and Grill.

Really, we’ve been doing stuff other than podcasting around here at 36 Point…

Hello everyone! It may seem at times that we have been doing nothing but podcasting here at 36 Point, and that is somewhat true… well, at least it seams to be most all that we post here anyway.
So, to update our great listeners and readers on what we have been doing besides work and podcasting in the past few months here at 36 Point:
- We hosted the 1st 36 Pints last month. Well, this one was really the Eleven19 10 Year open house, but we’ll count it. Pictures for those unable to make it are here.
- We had, and controlled, a Vermin issue. I wrote about this on the Neenah Paper blog in a post called, “A Problem of Vermin Proportion?“
- Ben Lueders checked into the Illustrate Omaha Designer Spotlight.
- I wrote about the best advice I have gotten in my career, also on the Neenah Paper blog, in a post called, “Sometimes it Pays to Listen.“
Tomorrow we hope to see you at our second 36 Pints event, and we’ll be posting the next two event dates and locations sometime during the day tomorrow. See you at The Homy!
Hey Omaha area design friends! We think it’s time we meet some of you in person, and why not sooner than later? So, we’re introducing 36 Pints, a meet after work for a drink and/or bite to eat.
We mentioned it briefly on our Superb Owl iv podcast, we even set the date for the first two on air, but for those who prefer a written itinerary, here goes:

We plan on doing these on the 2nd Wednesday of each month – wait – I mean starting with the second one. I mean, I’ve had a total of one open house at the Eleven19 office, and we just set up a second to go along with being in business 10 years, so sometimes we just go with what is there.
We’ll be updating the list here as we add dates and times. Thanks, and hope to see you soon. Also, we’re happy to take suggestions on future locations.
