1PT.Rule Comic: Epic Portfolio (Part 2)

Hidden motivations revealed at last? It was pointed out to me last night by a friend that it may not be inherently clear that today's strip is Part Two of a Three Part Epic Saga. Part One can be viewed here, Part Three can be seen in this very space Friday morning.

Hmm, I dunno how much humour I find in the concept of "rush" work and the general perverting of project timeframes. Perhaps some things aren't funny, even in retrospect.

So what's up with the Bone picture on the wall?

I can't be shy at all about how much Jeff Smith's work on Bone has influenced me. The photo of Phoney Bone on the wall is a shout-out to the greatest page in comics ever, from The Great Cow Race, where Lucious places his bet. Newton's expressions above were a direct homage to Phoney's behavior in that scene and I wanted to call it out in the strip.
