Things purchased in the name of project research can sometimes get a little out of hand. Personally I’ve walked back to the office with everything from giant Lego sets (awesome) and bags and bags full of women’s magazines (somewhat less so). Recently I had to yoink the last copy of Vibe out from under the nose of a guy who seemed to want to read it, not to tear it apart for clippings of type and imagery to be reassembled out-of-context later on to some sort of “board” showing “moods.” I’m pretty sure I’m going to spend this afternoon reassembling that old Lego kit, though.

I’d also like to give a shout-out to the fine folks running The Graphic Student and thank them for the link this week (if you’re a design student and you don’t have their site bookmarked you are missing out). Yes, The 36 Point Student Design Challenge is still on and yes, the prize is awesome. Once again, we aren’t asking you to pay money or do more work, we’re just asking you to make the work you’re already doing more awesome.
