In our final recap of the AIGA Head, Heart, Hand conference in Minneapolis, we start in the exhibit hall by speaking to Brian French and Jerry French of French Paper, and Jamie Saunders of Neenah Paper.
Just outside of that area, we find Cate White finishing up her final project for Command X (thrilled to see someone from Omaha in the competition – and happy to say she made the final round of three. Way to go, Cate!), and thus had the opportunity to get the thoughts from a contestant while in the middle of the competition. We also got some input from her mentor for the event, AIGA Medalist Rick Valicenti.
Finally, we wrap up our event coverage with someone who has been in the Minneapolis, and AIGA scene, Joe Isaak.
Thanks for following our covereage of this great event, and we look forward to the next one in 2015.
Well, the AIGA conference in Minneapolis lived up to the hype. In the first (of two) recaps I recorded while there. I speak with a stellar cast of attendees, speakers, national co=presidents, and more. That’s right, we bring in Justin Ahrens, Drew Davies, Stanley Hainsworth, Jim Moran, Tom Nemitz, and Emily Potts to get their thoughts on the first day of conferencing in the Twin Cities.
As for my thoughts, I blogged them all over at Neenah Paper’s Against the Grain, and you can find them here:
- More Eye Candy and Eggs from the AIGA Conference
- Head, Heart, Hand, Mountain Dew and Drew
- Good Weather, More Letterpress, Lots More Command X Remaining at Head, Heart, Hand
- Jucy Lucys and a Studio on Fire Tour at Head, Heart, Hand
- Tacos are the most important part of Head, Heart, Hand
This week, we bring back frequent guests Ashley McFeely and Steve Gordon to talk about what they’ve been up to lately, how to talk about your design work, what skills are best to have now, and more. This was one of those shows we had so much fun recording, that we ended up talking more after the show than during. Enjoy.
And next week I’ll be back with recaps from the AIGA conference.
