The Reflex Blue Show with Nate Voss and Donovan Beery, Episode 28: Giggles With Miggles Show {featuring Mig Reyes}
Welcome to the season finale of The Reflex Blue Show! Don’t worry, we’ll still be back in two weeks, it’s just that it’s been a whole year and we felt like we should call it a “Season.”
Our special guest today is The World’s Most Connected Young Designer, Mig Reyes. Mig is here to talk to young designers about how to get themselves out there, make connections, and make things happen for their burgeoning careers. And that is what he does. He also pimps a software program he has nothing to do with, but hey, that would be like dissing ourselves for liking the sweet, sweet taste of Mt. Dew Kung Fu Lighting flavor. The nectar of the Gods, that is. Have a listen, you just might learn something!

Mig… I feel used. I thought you really just wanted to be my friend.
hugs… Congrats too. Look at you.
I had massive amounts of fun in Omaha. Chicago awaits the 36 Point crew once more, mwuahaha. Ha.
dumb question? ….thats the last time i let one of your guests crash on my couch… ;)
Totally agree with Mig. After moving to Denver and interviewing for jobs like crazy, the big breakthrough was when I realized that the interview is about you, not your work.
Your work gets you in the door. Ideally, this helps you relax and be yourself, because that’s really what you want to present. Be real so that you can make sure that you fit the company and that it fits you. Better to find out know then 3 months down the line.
The other side is what Mig mentioned in regards to presentation skills. Sales is a huge part of the job… It hurts me to say that, because I’m not very good at it. From getting clients to buy off on your design choices, to landing clients, to getting that job you want, you need to sell your work.
