I’ve had this strip written for about 10 to 11 months now, but it always needed the proper setup (see Wednesday’s strip for that). With my penchant for saying the most inappropriate things at the least-appropriate moments, I’ve sometimes fantasized that this scenario is note-for-note what my return to full-time employment would be. No, just kidding. I am an excellent candidate for your office’s design needs. Promise.
It was suggested, rather strongly, last night, that further Great Pizza Hunt Excursions be given their own space on this website, and so that will be the way it goes in the future. Bravo to those who convinced me.
It was also asserted that this space be reserved to speaking only of things that relate directly to the strip at hand. To which I reply: Batman Returns is the third best Batman movie, hands down. Discuss if you like, but it will not change facts.

You’re welcome.
I remember agreeing last night that Batman Returns does rank as number 3 (behind the new two of course), but I just realized I misspoke.
Pretty sure that #3 is Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Batman Returns just got knocked down to 4.
Yes – Thank you! I love Batman Returns!!!
(Oh, and nice work on today’s strip. I think you excel at making fun of yourself. If you take that as a compliment, then you’re welcome.)
I would agree with Donovan except that I would bump “Returns” down to 5. Though it does boast Walken and Catwoman, you can’t justify that ending. I mean c’mon an army of penguins at the end with rockets strapped to their backs!? That can’t be better than the first “old-one” with the Joker.
The mouth is not Nate’s fault, it’s genetic.
Next to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the rest of the Batman movies are so ridiculously bad that I feel we may be comparing across genres here.
The best of the ridiculously bad live action Batman movies is Batman Forever. Batman Returns and the original Batman movie take occasional stabs at being faithful to the comics they are based on, failing pathetically. However, Batman Forever leaves behind any ideals of what Batman should or could be. It is so bad that it is awesome.
Also, Val Kilmer is the only actor that I could believe is Batman in real life. Not fighting crime though – just wearing the suit and assaulting women in alleys.
You’re all forgetting the roots. Besides Batman Begins and The Dark Knight; the best batman movie is Batman from 1966. Adam West rocks, and is to date, the only batman that was as tall as batman (6′2″).
Thank you, Bryan. I almost bought a BluRay player SINGLE HANDEDLY due to the 1966 Batman’s release on that format. Seriously, this really happened.
Although, honestly, each era of movies has its own “style” and “genre” and even, dare I say, “panache.” I like them all for different reasons (yes, even still today, Voss!)
Put it this way: I’m not always in the mood for the darkness of Christian Bale’s Batman, but I’m always in the mood for Batman. If that makes sense. And with that, I’m off to Hy-Vee for pancakes and eggs.
(OH, and solid comic, too.)
